My name is Landis Mangum! I’m from Atlanta, GA, and I’m currently a junior at The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. I’m majoring in Media and Journalism with an Advertising and Public Relations focus through Hussman School of Journalism and Media. I’m very passionate about journalism and the media industry and love continuing to learn and challenge myself through this school. I’m also minoring in history. I find it very interesting to learn about the past and truly understand how the past can help inform and shape one’s mindset.
In my current role as a Lead Sports Marketing Intern for the UNC-Chapel Hill Athletic Department, I collaborate with the marketing team to develop new strategies and initiatives to improve fan attendance and engagement. Additionally, I love being creative and sharing my visions with others whether that be through photography, writing, or digital storytelling. I am a photographer for The Daily Tar Heel, UNC’s student newspaper. I enjoy creating stories through a visual lens that effectively captivate an audience.
I enjoy developing written, social media, and video content that is effective in improving audience strategy. In the future, I would love to work in the journalism, entertainment, or media industry on the strategy or marketing side. I eager to build upon my communication, writing, and creative skills.
